Club Excellence
Sport Godalming Shield

A properly constituted Sports Club that has a proven track record of working with other organisations in the local community. They have in place all the necessary requirements from their national body plus the correct procedures for training volunteers, coaches and players which will result in outstanding performances at all levels of the club.

Coach of the Year Award

Will be presented to an individual who can demonstrate their dedication to coaching sport locally over the last 12 months.

1. Minimum of Level 2 NGB coaching award in the sport they are being nominated for.
2. Made a positive impact by increasing participation and/or inspiring and encouraging others to improve in their sport.
3. Evidence of personal development in the last 12 months.
4. A professional approach with excellent dedication

Cycling Award
Byron Grainger-Jones Cup

Outstanding performance by an individual or club in cycling.

Junior School Sports Award

Awarded to a school that encourages the participation in sport for all of its pupils up to and including Year 6. Although the winning of competitions and trophies will be taken into consideration, the judges will be looking for an increase in participation of all sports for all pupils regardless of their abilities. Also, how the diverse needs of young people is being met by engaging in an active approach to identify and deliver activities to achieve this.

Long Service to Sport in the Community
Jenny & Chris Slyfield Trophy

An individual who has contributed significantly to sport over a minimum of 5 years; has demonstrated continued enthusiasm and devoted time and resources to enable others to take part, increased participation and enjoyment of sport and made a positive impact in their local community.

Outstanding Achievement Award

To be awarded to an individual who has achieved a truly outstanding sporting achievement by way of a superior, excellent and or a remarkable performance.

Senior School Sports Team of the Year

A senior school sports team, year 7+, which has made significant progress or achieved a high level of sporting performance and success during the past school year.

Sports Personality of the Year
Charterhouse Shield

An individual aged 19 + at the time of achievement who has made significant progress in the field of sport; has had a significant impact on sport in the local area and been an inspiration to others and who has exceeded expectations in their sporting performance or made a significant difference to a team.

Sports Personality of the Year with a Disability

An individual who has made a significant impact on disability sport and has been an inspiration to others; has devoted continuous time and resources to the development of disability sport; has overcome barriers to excel in sport and has been a role model/mentor for other disabled people.

Sports Team of the Year
Waverley Shield

A sports team consisting of at least 4 members aged 19+ at time of achievement that have achieved success and competed at a consistently high level throughout the year; who have demonstrated fair play and a good sporting attitude throughout the year and have shown significant improvement from previous years

Volunteer of the Year

This award is for a coach, official, administrator or general helper who is aged 19+ at the time of achievement and who has demonstrated enthusiasm and commitment to a sport or club; has made tremendous impact on a club or organisation through volunteering and has shown a commitment to personal development, team working and supporting the development of other volunteers

Young Volunteer of the Year

A coach, official, administrator or general helper who is under 18 at the time of achievement and who has demonstrated enthusiasm and commitment to a sport or club; has made tremendous impact on a club or organisation through volunteering and has shown a commitment to personal development, team working and supporting the development of other volunteers.

Youth Sports Personality of the Year
Denningberg Shield

An individual who is under 18 at the time of achievement and who has made significant progress in the field of sport; has had a significant impact on sport in the local area and has been an inspiration to others and who has exceeded expectations in their sporting performance or made a significant difference to a team

Youth Sports Team of the Year
Go Godalming Shield

A sports team consisting of at least 4 team members who all were under 18 at the time of achievement and that have achieved success and competed at a consistently high level throughout the year; who have demonstrated fair play and a good sporting attitude throughout the year and have shown a significant improvement from previous years.
